Assembly District 52 Results

Rodriguez

Watching the election results come in. In this race, Paul Leon (No Party Preference) is running against Freddie Rodriguez (Democratic) in a strong Democratic district. What makes this race worth watching is that Leon easily defeated Republican Dorothy Pineda in the primary, which is (if not a first, a major testament to the power of No Party Preference voters.

There are 189 precincts to be counted, but it’s important to note that almost three-quarters of the votes in the primary were absentees. This will be an interesting one.

  • 8:25 pm (2 precincts reporting): Leon leads Rodriguez, 50.5% to 49.5%
  • 9:39 pm (8 precincts reporting): Rodriguez leads Leon, 50% to 50%
  • 9:53 pm (160 precincts reporting): Leon leads Rodriguez, 50.4% to 49.6%
  • 10:02 pm (182 precincts reporting): Rodriguez leads Leon, 51% to 49%
  • 10:08 pm (189 precincts reporting): Rodriguez leads Leon, 51.3% to 48.7%  FINAL
