In a statewide special election held on November 4th, California voters adopted new Congressional district maps to be used for the rest of the decade (until the redistricting following the 2030 Census).

The 15th amendment was rejected the first time it was brought to the California Legislature (in 1870). It was later passed unanimously in 1962.
