Big Daddy’s Vacation Photos

We don’t see new pictures like this very often… these vacation photos were taken on a trip that Speaker Jesse Unruh (also known as “Big Daddy”) took to Japan.

These photos were included in a collection of items recently donated by the estate of Senator Leroy F. Greene.

I am pleased to see that Senator Leroy F. Greene’s collections are so well represented in this website. I was a close friend to Syma Reynolds Greene and a friend and employee of the Senator for a number of years prior to his retirement from the California State Senate. I also worked for some 16-years with Tim Shelley in the offices and committees chaired by both Senator Daniel E. Boatwright and Senator Leroy F. Greene prior to their retirements due to term limits. Lorie Shelley was most helpful and gracious to help donate these documents when the family had copies of all the documents and these could be donated for historical purposes. I am now retired since about 2001, returning several times to work as a retired annuitant for the Sunset Review Committee over a number of years. I do have a copy of Senator Greene’s unpublished book that I might ask if it also could be donated for informational use. Ronna Safonov, August 31, 2021.
