Today would have been the 120th birthday for Former Assembly Chief Clerk Arthur Ohnimus.

Ohnimus, who was almost as interesting as Secretary of the Senate Joe Beek (Beek’s meritorious and heroic service in the second World War gives him a slight edge there) was one of the most important figures in California legislative history.
In 2008, the State Assembly created an online Ohnimus Collection relating to the Chief Clerk.
