Those Who Fought

The World War II Memorial in Washington, DC.

Alexander Anderson fought the English in 1812.

George S. Evans fought in the war that added the California to the nation, while Abner Weed fought in the war that kept the union whole. Mark Anthony fought the Spanish in the Philippines, and Nelson Dilworth fought the Germans in France.

A generation later, Paul Byrne fought the Japanese in the Pacific while James E. Cunningham charged ashore at Normandy.

Fred Marler fought in Korea, Pete Knight in Vietnam, and Jeff Denham served in the Gulf.

These are the soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen of our California State Senate.
