There has been a single “Dean of the Assembly” for 81 of the last 83 years. That will end for the foreseeable future when Mike Gatto leaves in 2016.
The only Democrats to serve as Governor of California since the end of World War II were; Jerry Brown (1975-1983, 2011-Present), Jerry Brown’s father (1959-1967), and Jerry Brown’s Chief of Staff (1999-2003).
