The busiest time of year at the State Capitol, end of session, has arrived. During the next seven days, the Legislature will wrap up work for the year, passing several hundred bills. Another couple hundred will be passed over; either to die or try again next year as a second year bill.
This is the time of year when deals are made, reputations earned, and legislators scramble to line up enough votes to pass their most controversial bills (the easiest bills passed months ago).
I would highly encourage any serious political junkies in the Sacramento area to stop by their Capitol in the next week to see the people’s work in progress. It is, after all, your money they’re spending.
