Resignation Letters Update

Just to bring the list of resignation letters up to date, here are the most recent resignation letters;
Assemblyman Mike Morrell

April 1, 2014
Dear Mr. Speaker: As a result of my election to the unexpired term of office for the 23rd Senatorial District, I hereby respectfully submit my resignation as State Assemblymember of the 40th Assembly District. My resignation is effective upon taking the oath of office for the 23rd Senate District on April 3, 2014.
Respectfully,
MIKE MORRELL
Assembly Member Fortieth District

Assemblywoman Holly Mitchell

September 25, 2013
Dearest Speaker Pérez: It is indeed with mixed emotions that I submit this letter as my official resignation from the California State Assembly, representing the good people of the 54th Assembly District. My resignation shall take effect immediately upon my taking the oath of office to serve in the State Senate, representing the 26th District, on September 26, 2013. It has been suggested by historians and such that I use this official document to chronicle my work in the Assembly. I have chosen, however, to let my work—our work, as conscientious policy makers who remain deeply committed to the well-being of ALL Californians—speak for itself:

• An on-time balanced budget that invests strategically in core services for vulnerable communities.
• Meaningful support for low-income working families and their children.
• Expansion of critical health services for those who’ve gone without for far too long.
• Protection of the fundamental rights of women, immigrants, workers, children, and those serving in the juvenile and adult prison system. With that, I will simply say, PEACE OUT!
Respectfully Submitted,
HOLLY J. MITCHELL
Assembly Member Fifty-fourth District
Assemblyman Bob Blumenfield

June 30, 2013
Dear Mr. Speaker: As a result of my election to the Los Angeles Council District 3, I hereby respectfully submit my resignation as State Assemblymember of the 45th Assembly District. My resignation is effective upon taking the oath of office for the City Council on June 30, 2013.
Sincerely,
BOB BLUMENFIELD
Assembly Member Forty-fifth District

Assemblywoman Norma J. Torres

May 16, 2013
Dear Mr. Speaker: As a result of my election to the unexpired term of office for the 32nd Senatorial District, I hereby respectfully submit my resignation as State Assemblymember of the 52nd Assembly District. My resignation is effective upon taking oath of office for the 32nd Senate District on May 20, 2013.
Respectfully,
NORMA J. TORRES, Assembly Member
